Hillhead Quarry Buxton UK

Quarrying + Construction + Recycling

As a member of the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO), Hillhead has been working with the association, its partners and its members to develop the industry-wide All Secure Standard.

These guidelines have been approved by UK government and provide a framework of support and assessments to ensure a safe return to live events by setting common standards of health, safety and operational planning, management and on-site conduct.

A copy of the standard is available here

What does this mean for Hillhead 2021?

We want all of our exhibitors, sponsors and visitors to be able to come to Hillhead and feel safe and confident that we are doing all we can to reduce the risk posed by Covid-19.  As such we will be implementing a range of measures set around the four cornerstones of the All Secure Standard:

  • Social Distancing
  • Cleaning and Hygiene
  • Protect and Detect
  • Communication

Social Distancing

  • Providing contactless registration for exhibitors and visitors.
  • Eliminating handshakes and other physical greetings.
  • Reducing the exchange of printed materials such as brochures and business cards.
  • Working with our catering partners to ensure food is served in pre-packaged and closed containers wherever possible.
  • Adhering to crowd density regulations which will be managed through measures such as one-way systems, widened aisles, floor markings and on-site signage.

Protect and Detect

  • Ensuring that face masks are worn upon entry to the site.
  • Providing additional PPE such as gloves and Perspex screens to be used where appropriate.
  • Working with local authorities to trace and contact visitors to the event if required.
  • Advising exhibitors and visitors not to attend if they feel unwell.
  • Anyone who feels unwell whilst at the event (with Covid symptoms) will be asked to leave the site immediately.
  • Providing full first aid cover at the event including paramedics and an ambulance onsite.

Cleaning and Hygiene

  • Introducing enhanced cleaning regimes across the site, particularly in high footfall areas.
  • Providing hand sanitiser stations which will be positioned at regular intervals across the site.
  • The removal of air conditioning units in all internal areas and the two Pavilions.

  • Pre-event messaging to exhibitors via the Online Manual and Safety Bulletins
  • Pre event messaging to visitors via the Hillhead Newsletter.
  • Introducing appropriate onsite signage promoting good hygiene and social distancing.
  • Providing dedicated staff and ambassadors on site to enforce good practice.

We are currently working on a series of dedicated Covid-19 specific exhibitor risk assessment templates and an exhibitor guide, as well as our own event risk assessment which will all be available by the end of the year.
