What are the opening times?

The show is open Tuesday - Thursday, our usual open times are:

Tuesday 09:00 – 17:30

Wednesday 09:00 – 17:30

Thursday 09:00 – 16:30

Is there a cost to visit?

No, Hillhead is free to attend to all visitors

What can I expect to see at the exhibition?

Hillhead is the biggest exhibition of its kind in the world and showcases the latest products, services and equipment for the quarrying, construction and recycling industries. Hillhead also provides a unique opportunity to see the equipment in action across four live demonstration areas.

How can I register to attend the event?

Registration will open early 2024.

Can I attend more than one day?

Yes, with so much to see, it is likely you will want to return for a second or third day. Your badge is valid for all 3 days.

Can children attend the exhibition?

NO.  Due to the nature of the event, children under the age of 16 will not be admitted to the show under any circumstances. We advise younger visitors to bring ID as checks will be in operation.

What should I wear?

Hillhead takes place in a quarry, the ground is uneven and consists of loose rock and gravel. We request that visitors wear sturdy, suitable footwear. Sandals, flip-flips, high-heels and pumps are not appropriate and may cause injury.

Also allow for British summer weather - rain coats and sun cream. 

Is there car parking at the event?

Yes, car parking is free at Hillhead and we have plenty of car parking space available with shuttle busses to and from the Registration Pavilion.

Can I travel by train?

Yes. Buxton Station is approximately 3km from the showground. For details of services visit National Rail Enquiries.

Where can I stay?

Accommodation in the area surrounding Hillhead is in high demand during the show and we recommend booking early. 

Is there Internet access at the event?

Yes. There are free WiFi hot spots across the exhibition site.

Is there disabled access?

Due to the site conditions in the quarry, anyone with a disability or requiring assistance should contact the organisers well in advance so that the necessary provisions can be made. 

We will be partnering with Event Mobility who will be providing electric scooter hire for disabled, elderly and mobility impaired visitors at the show. This service will be available to book via their website in the months prior to the show.

Is food & drink available at the show?

Yes. We have a number of food outlets throughout the site, as well as the Hillhead Cafe, all serving a range of hot and cold food and drinks. Drinking water taps are located at various points around the site and we encourage visitors to reduce our environmental impact by bringing refillable containers with them.

Are cash machines available at the show?

There are no cash machines onsite and we advise visitors to bring cash with them. The cafe and a limited number of catering outlets have facilities to take card payments.

Are dogs or other animals allowed?

No. Unless required for assistance, animals are not permitted on site at any time.  Visitors with a disability should contact the organisers in advance so that assistance arrangements can be made.
