Transfluid K Series Constant-Fill Fluid Couplings

The Transfluid K Series is a range of constant-fill hydrokinetic fluid couplings designed for electric or diesel-driven machinery. Engineered for smooth and efficient torque transmission, the K Series provides reliable performance in demanding industrial applications.

Each unit comprises three primary elements: a driving impeller mounted on the input shaft, a driven impeller mounted on the output shaft, and a cover flanged to the output impeller with an oil-tight seal. The impellers function as a centrifugal pump and hydraulic turbine, transferring torque through fluid motion rather than mechanical contact. As a result, wear is practically eliminated and service life is extended.

Operating under hydrokinetic principles, transmitted torque is proportional to the square of input speed, transmitted power to the cube of input speed, and power capacity to the fifth power of circuit outside diameter. Under standard duty conditions, slip typically ranges from 1.5% at higher power levels to 6% at lower power levels.

The K Series operates with oil as standard and is also available for water operation upon request. Multiple SAE housings and flexible coupling options support integration across a wide range of machinery. ATEX-certified versions are available in accordance with Directive 94/9/EC, covering all applicable categories.
