Transfluid KPTO Variable Fill Hydraulic Coupling

The Transfluid KPTO is a drain-type variable fill hydraulic coupling designed for diesel engine applications up to 1000 kW. Enclosed within a housing connected to the engine via SAE interface, the KPTO combines the functionality of a conventional power take-off with the performance advantages of a fluid coupling.

The engine flywheel connects to the KPTO input through an elastic coupling, while the output shaft can be configured with elastic couplings, cardan shafts or pulleys to suit the driven equipment. An integrated feeding pump driven by the diesel engine ensures consistent oil circulation, with forced bearing lubrication continuously maintained.

A remote electrically operated ON-OFF valve controls fluid feed to the coupling, enabling smooth engagement when activated and rapid oil drainage when disengaged. This design allows unloaded engine warm-up, soft start capability without belt slip, shock and overload protection, vibration absorption and load positioning control.

Standard equipment includes an oil feeding pump, oil filter with pressure and temperature gauges, oil temperature switch, oil level indicators and the ON-OFF electric valve. Optional accessories include water or air heat exchangers, quick-release valves, output pulleys, elastic couplings, output flanges and cardan shafts.

With high radial load capacity, remote control capability and reduced maintenance requirements due to external accessory mounting, the KPTO provides a durable, long-life solution without friction linings to wear, making it ideal for heavy-duty industrial and mobile machinery applications.
