The impact of HS2 on the aggregates sector
The Infrastructure stream on Wednesday 31 March will be kicking off proceedings with a look at the impact of HS2 on the quarrying and construction industry, as part of the ‘HS2 – Time to Make Tracks’ session.
The Tarmac team of Rob Gossling, head of commercial engineering; Graham Cooper, lime director; and Robert Lane, HS2 general manager, will be presenting ‘HS2 Raising the Bar’.
As one of the biggest transport infrastructure projects to be built in the UK, HS2 requires huge volumes of construction materials to be supplied to exacting quality, whilst meeting high sustainability and carbon reduction standards.
The scale of the build, logistics and investment across the supply chain is challenging but will drive progress and legacy. This session will tackle the immediate challenges, COVID-19 issues and mobilization.
