NOCN Group / CPCS

The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is the UK’s leading industry-standard card scheme, designed to demonstrate the skills, training and competence of plant machinery operators. Owned by NOCN Group and launched in 2003, it plays a central role in maintaining safety and capability standards across construction sites, spanning more than 60 plant categories, from excavators to cranes.

As part of NOCN Group’s broader commitment to skills development and quality assurance, CPCS is supported by a wider ecosystem of training and certification. This includes NOCN Assured Courses, which provide independent recognition for bespoke or specialist training programmes that sit outside standard qualifications.

Assured Courses complement CPCS by offering a flexible route for recognising high-quality, industry-relevant training. Together, they help ensure operators not only meet core competence requirements, but also develop additional skills that reflect evolving industry needs and site-specific demands.
