Institute of Quarrying

The Institute of Quarrying is the professional membership organisation for individuals working across the minerals, aggregates and related industries. It promotes excellence, innovation and best practice through professional development, networking and knowledge sharing. IQ supports its members with training, qualifications, technical resources and events, helping to drive safe, sustainable and responsible quarrying while strengthening professional standards across the sector.

IQ will highlight the recent National Occupational Standard (NOS) update, the Diploma in Explosives Surface Mining Engineering course, and the value of becoming an IQ Member.

Also, on stand PA2, MP Connect will be demonstrating their workforce platform which audits drivers and contractors entering sites, to ensure they are suitably qualified and inducted to work in specific environments. MP Connect also includes a cost-effective assurance tool for businesses.

In addition, MP Awards will be on hand to explain the review of the existing Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) standards and qualification frameworks. The updated standards have been developed through a structured and collaborative approach, bringing together quarry operators, training providers, awarding organisations, trade organisations and professional institutions.
