Crusher Training

Operating crushers – whether mobile crushers on demolition and recycling sites or static crushing equipment in quarries, construction or demolition – requires specialist skills and knowledge.

NPORS N207 Crusher training is a practical course that equips operators with the essential skills and knowledge to work safely and efficiently. Upon successful completion of training and testing, participants will obtain an NPORS Card appropriate to their industry and level – NPORS Operator Card, NPORS CSCS Trained Operator Card or NPORS CSCS Competent Operator Card.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator.
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
  • Be able to locate and identify how to use the remote control for steering and driving and explain all their functions.
  • Conduct all pre-occupational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements.
  • Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for the crusher.
  • Safely mount and dismount the crusher.
  • Start and stop the crusher engine, belts, feeder, jaws/hammers safely.
  • Configure the machine for travel on site and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain in open and confined areas.
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
  • Explain different types of crushers, their advantages and disadvantage of using, and how they produce the desired size material.
  • Communicate with the loading operator establishing agreed signs, desired product size and production speed.
  • Carry out emergency stop and safety precautions.
  • Carry out crushing tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for machine transportation.
  • Environmental considerations.
  • Carry out all end-of-shift shut down procedures.
