ProSpare celebrate 10 years of bulk materials handling at Hillhead

PROSPARE marked the 10th anniversary of their Bulk Materials Handling division at Hillhead 2026, celebrating a decade of helping operators improve the performance, safety and reliability of belt conveyor systems throughout the UK.

Launched at Hillhead in 2016, the division has established itself as a specialist supplier of high-performance conveyor solutions, including STARCLEAN belt cleaners, CenTrax belt-tracking systems, and SealTek sealing technology.

Over the past 10 years, the business has grown to an 11-strong team, including seven specialist service engineers, and has supplied more than 2,500 STARCLEAN belt cleaner units to customers across the UK. The division has also received industry recognition, including the Mineral Products Association (MPA) Health & Safety Awards and the Tarmac Innovation Challenge.

To mark the milestone, ProSpare hosted a special 'BULK TEN' celebration on the opening day of Hillhead 2026. Visitors to the stand were invited to join the anniversary celebrations, featuring specially branded beer, commemorative cupcakes, product demonstrations, and giveaways showcasing the company's bulk materials-handling expertise.

The anniversary highlighted ProSpare's continued commitment to delivering innovative conveyor cleaning, tracking and sealing solutions that help customers reduce downtime, minimize maintenance and improve operational efficiency.

Conveyors were often cited as one of the biggest problem areas in plants, so in 2016, we established our Bulk Materials Handling Division, and we’re delighted with the positive impact it has had on the industry.

‘As part of the occasion, my son, Tom, is also celebrating 10 years with the company this year. In his first few years with the business, he played an important role in setting up the Bulk division, so it was great to share in the celebration with him.’

Despite celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Bulk Materials Handling division continues to introduce the latest conveyor technologies to the UK market. Making its debut at Hillhead 2026 was the new STARCLEAN HD range of heavy-duty belt cleaners.

Developed for the most demanding large-scale conveyor applications, the HD range incorporates STARCLEAN's proven blade and tensioner technology in a significantly larger, more robust design. For example, the HD 481 polyurethane blade is approximately 3.5 times larger than its equivalent in the standard STARCLEAN range, making it well suited to wide belts, high-throughput operations, and the toughest conveying environments. The enhanced design also requires less frequent adjustment, helping to reduce maintenance on critical conveyor systems.

Although unveiled at Hillhead 2026, ProSpare say the STARCLEAN HD range is already delivering strong performance on several installations across the UK.
