Deutz to unveil next-gen engines for off-highway equipment sector

DEUTZ AG UK branch will present a selection of its proven and next-generation engine platforms at Hillhead 2026, highlighting solutions designed to meet the latest emissions standards and performance demands across quarrying, construction, and industrial applications.

With a focus on high power density, fuel efficiency, and robust design, the engines on display are engineered to deliver reliable performance in high-utilization environments. The line-up spans compact to high-output solutions, giving OEMs and operators a broad choice of drive systems for a wide range of off-highway machines.

Products on show will include the TD 2.9 with cooling pack, offering a space-efficient, ready-to-install package for smaller machines, and the TCD 3.9/4.0 with exhaust after-treatment, delivering up to 130kW with a strong balance of performance and emissions compliance. The TCD 5.2 further strengthens the mid-power segment, providing higher output, flexibility, and an efficient option for a wide range of applications, including construction, materials handling, and industrial uses

For heavy-duty requirements, Deutz will showcase the TCD 10.7 with cooling pack and the TCD 12.8 – both six-cylinder engines designed for continuous, high-load operation. Visitors will also be able to experience live demonstrations of Deutz’s Serdia diagnostics and telematics, offering real-time insight into engine performance, fault diagnostics, and maintenance efficiency.

Across the range, modular design and flexible configuration options enable easy integration into a wide variety of machine types. The engine platform display underlines DEUTZ’s commitment to delivering reliable, efficient, and application-focused drive solutions for the off-highway sector.

Also at this year’s Hillhead show, Deutz AG UK branch will introduce its DEUTZ Xchange programme, offering quarrying and construction operators a practical and cost-effective alternative to purchasing new engines. 

Designed for high-utilization environments, the programme helps minimize unplanned downtime by providing professionally reconditioned engines and components that are ready to install and available for rapid dispatch.

Covering Deutz engine platforms from the past 40 years, including legacy and discontinued models, all Xchange units are fully reconditioned at dedicated Deutz production facilities in Ulm, Germany. Each engine is stripped, inspected, and rebuilt to original manufacturing standards using genuine parts and updated to the latest technical specifications, ensuring like-for-like performance, durability, and reliability.

Backed by warranties of up to five years, Deutz Xchange provides operators with confidence in demanding applications. With engines and components readily available, the programme helps keep essential plant equipment – from loaders and excavators to crushers and screeners – running efficiently without the delays associated with new engine supply.
