Baumer to highlight full sensor and encoder portfolio at Hillhead 2026

AT Hillhead 2026, Swiss family-owned automation specialist Baumer will showcase their extensive range of durable, high-performance sensors and encoders, designed specifically for the tough conditions of quarrying, mining, and bulk handling.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the latest absolute encoders, inclination sensors, and speed feedback solutions engineered to withstand high shock, vibration, dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

This event provides Baumer with the ideal opportunity to highlight applications across construction machinery, quarrying and aggregates equipment, and material handling machines and vehicles. Typical applications include crushers, screeners, conveyors, excavators, loaders, telehandlers, and mobile handling equipment. Supporting functions include boom and chassis inclination, steering angle feedback, shaft and drum position and speed monitoring.

Products on display will include the GIM600R, a highly precise, uniquely reliable, and safety-compliant inclination sensor designed for mobile machines, offering verified accuracy up to 0.1º and the latest functional safety compliance up to PLd in accordance with ISO 13849-1:2023.

Also on show will be the Magres EAM 580RS absolute encoder, a PLd safety-certified device designed for mobile automation. With dependable magnetic sensing and CANopen Safety communication, it delivers strong performance in harsh environments, featuring high resistance to shock and vibration, IP67 protection, corrosion resistance up to CX(C5-M), and an E1-compliant design.

Robust cable transducers will also be on display, offering precise position measurements of up to 50m for mobile machines, helping to ensure easy linear travel measurement.

Completing the product range will be the EB360R Absolute Multiturn Encoder, a compact, robust, and precise device for dependable, accurate positioning. The encapsulated, bearingless design provides protection beyond IP69 K, facilitates easy integration, and eliminates the need for exposed mounting. 

Live demonstrations will showcase how Baumer sensors and encoders enhance machine accuracy, reliability, and uptime, while Baumer application specialists will be available to discuss direct replacements for existing sensors, functional safety options, and connectivity via IO-Link, CANopen, and SSI.

The Hillhead event will also assist visitors in understanding how to utilise Baumer’s global manufacturing footprint, durable designs, and application support to minimise risk, total lifecycle costs, and enhance daily operations.
