Astec unveil major product expansion at Hillhead 2026

ASTEC used Hillhead 2026 to unveil eight new products and a series of patented technological innovations, underscoring the company's long-term growth ambitions in the European and global aggregates, construction, and recycling sectors.

Across two exhibition stands and the popular 'Crusher Alley' live demonstration area, Astec showcased new equipment covering crushing, screening, washing and material handling. The company said the eight machines on display are part of a wider pipeline of more than 20 new products set to enter the quarrying, roadbuilding, construction and recycling markets over the next two years.

Speaking at a press conference on the show's opening day, Astec's senior leadership team – including chief executive officer Jaco van der Merwe, Materials Solutions group president Michael Norris, Astec Europe managing director Damian Power, vice-president of product management Stephen Whyte, and vice-president of channel management Malachy Gribben – outlined the company's strategy to strengthen its European presence through continued product innovation and investment.

A key focus was Astec's manufacturing facility in Omagh, Co. Tyrone, which now employs around 230 people across manufacturing, engineering and customer support. The site will manufacture the new Frontier range of tracked mobile crushing and screening equipment, which made its European debut at Hillhead.

Among the major product launches was the global introduction of the Kolberg Washing brand, featuring the modular Eco-Scrub washing system for semi-mobile applications. The new Modex brand also made its exhibition debut, showcasing Astec's patented Vari-Frequency Technology on the Pioneer 6203LPV horizontal screen.

The company also highlighted its proven Multi-Frequency screen, available in tracked, wheeled and static configurations, designed to reduce screen blinding when processing difficult materials, including reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), topsoil, compost, skip waste fines and crushed rock fines.

Marking its 25th anniversary, Astec's Telestack business launched the new LF527 low-feed hopper and TCL 1031 Zero heavy-duty stacker, while live demonstrations in the Crusher Alley arena featured the new Frontier JA45 mobile jaw crusher working in conjunction with the Frontier SDF16 mobile scalper.

Astec also confirmed the recent appointment of Red Knight 6 as distributor for England and Wales and O'Kane Equipment Solutions for Scotland and northern England, strengthening the company's support network for the new Frontier tracked crushing and screening range across Great Britain.
