)
As the most visited edition in the event’s history, with a total of 26,626 visits over the three days, PowerX said Hillhead 2024 proved to be an incredible success for them. They were especially thrilled to see visitors spending more time at the event than ever before, with a record number attending for multiple days. This, they added, solidified Hillhead’s reputation as a premier gathering for the quarrying, construction, and recycling sectors.
PowerX used the show to showcase their cutting-edge technology, the highlights of their display being the 120TG compact sand washing plant and the WG22E portable cone crusher. Designed for concrete production, the sand washing plant effectively replaces traditional bucket wheels or screw classifiers and efficiently recovers fine sands lost in water effluents. By combining hydrocyclones with high-frequency vibrating screens, the plant produces two grades of sand with adjustable particle size distribution. Key features include twin-grade static and washing classification, two horizontal centrifugal pumps, hydrocyclones, a split sump, and a high-frequency dewatering screen. PowerX say this set-up ensures cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency, with a modular hydrocyclone design for maximum flexibility, easy maintenance access, and optimal material recovery above 63 microns.
Meanwhile, tailored for the European market, the WG220E portable cone crusher is said to excel in secondary and tertiary hard rock processing in quarries and gravel pits. Featuring a Cedarapids TG220 cone crusher, it offers powerful crushing capabilities. The plant is easily set up with hydraulic telescopic legs and complies with European road regulations. It includes a 1,000mm wide discharge conveyor, a 5 cubic metre capacity feed hopper, and a variable-speed belt feeder. The crusher’s automated intelligent control (AIC) system optimizes adjustments for peak performance, ensuring efficient operation. Additional features include multiple discharge conveyor positions, electric drive, and foldable inspection platforms for transport.
According to PowerX, the high level of engagement at their stand during the show was testament to the growing interest in their innovative solutions. A spokesperson for the company said: ‘It was wonderful to see so many of our customers and new contacts spending considerable time with our sales team, discussing the advanced features and benefits of our equipment. This interaction underscored our commitment to meeting industry needs with cutting-edge technology and exceptional service.’
