Mecalac MBR-71 pedestrian roller
)
Specifically designed for the compaction of granular and asphalt materials, Mecalac’s MBR-71 is the construction industry’s favourite single drum pedestrian roller. Perfectly suited to applications including highway repair, footpaths, cycle lanes, playgrounds and landscaping environments, its proven design and best-in-class manoeuvrability guarantee optimum performance for operators.
Powered by a 9.8HP Hatz 1 B50T air-cooled diesel engine, the roller delivers 15kN centrifugal force, 0.57mm amplitude, 7.2kg/cm static linear load and 65Hz frequency. Key dimensions include 1,225mm height, 710mm drum width, 8mm shell thickness and 496kg total static base weight.
Recently updated to incorporate hydrostatic drive, the new model features a revised clutch and belt arrangement to minimise maintenance requirements. A 35% increase in water tank volume has significantly increased working range, while moving operating controls to the handle ensures safer and more ergonomically friendly operation.
A new ‘spring applied’ hydraulic release handbrake activates when pressure is lost to maximise operator safety, while innovative rubber couplings in the drum reduce vibration transfer for additional comfort.
For added versatility, the MBR71 features an all-new tow-behind trailer and hydraulic breaker combination. Inverted suspension ensures the trailer is perfect for low loading, complemented by a new light board design that provides optimum visibility and compliance for road-tow operation.
