Arolco Engineering Solutions
Arolco Engineering Solutions will be attending Hillhead for the first time in 2022. Our presence in the NI marketplace among material handling companies is strong, this year will see us re-engage and connect with those customers, inform our exisiting customers of the new and improved services available to them as well opening up the opportunity to build relationships with new companies.
Throughout the last two years of the pandemic, Arolco Engineering Solutions have invested heavily in both new equipment and new people - a total investment of £370,000 has been made for two new machines that are integral to the streamlining of our processes and improving efficiencies on the factory floor.
The manufacturing process of how we groove and lag rollers has changed over the last 18 months with modern state of the art CNC equipment now being used to complete this part of order.
After seeing a significant demand and increase in orders for screw conveyors/augers, Arolco Engineering Solutions have invested in a programmable helix flight machine which will be implemented into our fabrication department to improve the manufacturing proceess of screw conveyors/augers. Although the capability of manufacturing these parts already exists in house, this new machine will reduce the time taken to manufacture these products so the lead time of this product will be improved for our customers.
An increased investment in people in the second half of 2021 within our manual and CNC machine shop has seen the development of several apprentices undergo extensive training at Arolco supported by South West College. These apprentices have been trained to a level where they are confident in the work they are allocated on a weekly basis, and although mentoring is still ongoing it has allowed more experienced members of the team to focus on further developing our CNC department. The time saved through having apprentices working within a cell manufacturing set up has allowed us to commit time to researching the market surrounding CNC work, new technologies and processes and how we can adapt our business to better cater for both new and exisiting customers.
