Integrated monitoring for digital powertrains
Stand, PC41: A complete powertrain package is the centrepiece of ABB’s presence at Hillhead 2018. ABB is one of the only companies to offer single source supplier status for all components such as electric motors, variable-speed drives, gearboxes, bearings and couplings.
The ABB Dodge® products include mounted bearings with adapter mount and setscrew options, gearbox and motorised reducer units, rigid and flexible shaft couplings. These components are designed for easy and rapid removal and installation, offering major time saving for in-house maintenance teams.
Alongside one of the largest ranges of motors, generators and variable speed drives in the world, ABB will show the merits of synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) and drive packages, which offer more power, less noise and lower maintenance compared with traditional induction motors.
Looking after all parts of the powertrain is critical for many mining and mineral processing operations. For the first time in the UK ABB will be discussing ABB Ability™ Digital Powertrains that enable users to digitally “see” operational variables through an integrated, one-stop portal. ABB Ability™ Condition Monitoring for powertrains – drives, motors, bearings and pumps - visualizes key operational parameters of individual assets as a unified system and, with the help of ABB’s expertise, provides customers an insight into maintenance to ensure optimal operations. As a result, the ABB Ability™ Condition Monitoring for powertrains offers insights that lead to operational improvement, resulting in less downtime, extended equipment lifetime, lower costs and higher profitability.
