Company to unveil two new pumps as it marks its 160th anniversary at this year’s show
Sykes Pumps’ 160 year anniversary celebrations culminate in June when the company will be unveiling two exciting new pumps on its stand (CE13) at Hillhead 2018.
As the largest trade show of its kind anywhere in the world, Hillhead will provide Sykes Pumps with an opportunity to showcase the company’s latest innovations in pump technology and fuel efficiency to visitors from across the quarrying, construction and recycling sectors.
Sales director Chris Graham explained: ‘We come to Hillhead because it’s a great opportunity to engage with customers and show the latest additions to our hire fleet. This year is particularly special as it is part of our 160-year anniversary celebrations, highlighting a heritage that no other pump hire specialist can rival.
‘More than a century-and-a-half after Henry Sykes first began supplying pumps and other site equipment, we’re proud to continue innovating and bringing new pumps and accessories to the hire sector.’
Alongside the new models in the Sykes Pumps fleet, the company will be bringing a touch of history and nostalgia to the event as part of its 160th anniversary celebrations, in the form of a fully functional mid-20th century steam engine, which was manufactured by Sykes almost 100 years ago.
Mr Graham added: ‘Technology may have changed since the company first began 160 years ago, but our focus on designing market-leading solutions to address the needs of our marketplace and servicing our customers has not.
‘Our aim is to ensure our customers are covered in every eventuality, which means that we’re not only constantly investing in our hire fleet, but also offering genuine 24/7 service across our nationwide depot network.
‘Our customers know they can rely on us and those old-fashioned values of service and innovation, which are still just as relevant at Hillhead 2018 as they were when Henry Sykes set up his first engineering business 160 years ago.’
