HX-Series model to take centre stage alongside existing Hyundai wheel loaders and excavators
VISITORS to the Hyundai Construction Equipment stand will be among the first in the UK to see the recently launched HX130 LCR – the third compact-radius excavator model forming part of the company’s HX-Series range.
Powered by a Tier 4 Final/Stage IIIB-compliant Perkins 854 diesel engine (55kW) that includes a diesel particulate filter (DPF), the HX130 excavator provides optimum power and fuel-efficiency without the need for a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.
Equipped with 40.6in wide bucket (0.59 cubic metre-capacity), the machine offers a maximum digging depth of 18ft, a maximum digging reach of 27ft and a bucket digging force of 10,369kgf.
The HX130 LCR offers optimum visibility and controllability to the operator with its 8in interactive, adjustable touchscreen cluster-monitor and optional Hyundai AAVM – an all-around view monitoring system that provides 360° virtual operating views.
Incorporated in the AAVM is the IMOD (intelligent moving object detection) system that senses and warns the operator when objects come within 16.5ft (5m) of the machine. The AAVM system has helped make the Hyundai HX Series among the safest excavators to operate on any job site in the UK.
The HX130 LCR excavator features an advanced hydraulic system that delivers up to 13% faster cycle speeds than previous models and includes a ‘boom float’ mode for better grading and a ‘fine swing’ mode for enhanced load control during swinging.
The crawler excavator also boasts IPC (intelligent power control) computer-aided power optimization based on load demand, while a ‘Eco breaker’ mode is available for selectable pump flow and reduced fuel consumption when working with Hyundai hydraulic breakers and other attachments.
Other Hyundai machines to feature at Hillhead 2018 will include: the HL960HD and HL975 wheel loader models; the HX220L, HX300L and HX380L crawler excavators; and the R18-9 and R30Z-9AK compact excavators.
The HL960HD loader has an operating weight of 19,300kg and is powered by a Stage IV-compliant Cummins QSB6.7 diesel engine that delivers 222hp at 2,200 rev/min. The HL975 unit – which has an operating weight of 26,500kg – is equipped with a Cummins QSG12 engine (Stage IV-compliant) that provides 250kW at 2,100 rev/min.
Part of the 3-4 tonne class, the Hyundai R30Z-9AK is a zero tail-swing mini-excavator that provides reliability and high performance, while the R30Z-9AK is powered by a fuel-efficient, low-noise Kubota D1305 engine that delivers 25hp at 2,350 rev/min.
Another Stage IV-compliant machine, the HX220L excavator is fitted with a Cummins QSB6.7 4-cycle turbocharged air-cooled diesel engine (136kW) and, like the HX130 LCR model, offers fuel-efficiency benefits.
