Company to introduce its largest scalping machine to date at Hillhead 2018
Compact crushing and screening specialists EvoQuip will launch the largest screen in their portfolio – the Colt 1000 scalping screen – on stand L4 at this year’s Hillhead exhibition in Buxton, Derbyshire.
Building on the success of the Colt 600 and Colt 800 models, the Colt 1000 is capable of processing up to 360 tonnes/h and has already been put to the test with Rapid Aggregates.
‘I am impressed by the performance of the Colt 1000, a powerful machine for such a small package,’ said Trevor Armitage, managing director of Rapid Aggregates. ‘There is nothing it can’t cope with and output is comparable to larger screens. The screenbox is very aggressive and excellent at clearing both stone and wet soil material.’
The Colt 1000 scalping machine incorporates a 13ft x 4ft double-deck screen. The variable screening angle and a number of screen media options available allows the scalping unit to operate in both heavy-duty scalping and precision screening applications, as well as manage difficult materials.
In keeping with the ethos of the Colt line, the versatile and compact Colt 1000 features a compact footprint. The standard configuration discharges the fines product to the right side of the plant, with the mid-grade on the left. Both conveyors can be ordered reversed as an option, with the ability to place both conveyors on the same side of the unit once the Colt 1000 reaches the field.
Flexibility is further enhanced with a two-way split conversion by simply relocating the tail conveyor to collect both top- and bottom-deck pieces.
EvoQuip say the machine’s feeding system offers class-leading capacity through folding hopper extensions, while the 1,000mm wide feed conveyor complements the screen width to ensure the maximum screening area is managed from the feed point.
The Colt 1000 can be fitted with the T-Link telemetry system, which provides users with real-time information about the performance of their machine.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to see how the Colt 1000 performs in the live demo area of the show, where it will be fed by the new Cobra 290 impact crusher – another of the EvoQuip new products launching at Hillhead 2018.
