Construction Plant-hire Association – the UK’s principal point of contact for all issues relating to construction plant
THE Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) is the leading trade association for the UK plant hire industry, with around 1,600 CPA members supplying 85% of hired plant to the construction sector.
The CPA works with government departments and agencies, local authorities, construction clients, private companies, other trade associations and third-sector organizations on issues including: employee health and safety; machinery standards and emissions control; road transport safety; and skills and employment.
The CPA also publishes a wide range of guidance documents, which are distributed across the construction industry and many are available for immediate free download from the CPA website (www.cpa.uk.net). Recently launched operational safety guidance includes ‘Lifting Operations with Excavators’ and ‘Forward Tipping Dumpers’.
