Buxton & High Peak

Buxton is an attractive Victorian spa town which lies within the Peak District National Park - an area of outstanding natural beauty and the oldest of all national parks in the United Kingdom. Apart from the breathtaking scenery, many tourist attractions are close at hand such as Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House, ancestral homes of the Dukes of Rutland and Devonshire respectively. Other local venues include the National Stone Centre, Peak District Mining Museum, Steam Rail and Tramway museums, caves, caverns and wildlife parks.
